Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities

The Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities is a nonprofit, nonpartisan policy center addressing key challenges faced by policymakers in Nevada. We are affiliated with the University of Nevada, Reno, with researchers and collaborative partnerships at NSHE institutions across the state. Founded in 2014 by a group of Nevadans who sought to advance new policy choices based on sound research, sensible and pragmatic thinking, and bold ideas, the Center is named for the late-Governor Kenny Guinn. Our research is financially supported through grants, contracts, and generous contributions from our donors.

About This Event

Join the Guinn Center for a First Look webinar on Following Federal Funds to Nevada’s Nonprofits, a new analysis examining how federal dollars move through Nevada state agencies to nonprofit organizations that help deliver essential services statewide.

This webinar will highlight key findings from the report, including how pass-through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, and Department of Agriculture was distributed in State Fiscal Year 2025. The discussion will also explore policy considerations related to data infrastructure, service continuity risks, and long-term funding resilience.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how federal funding supports Nevada’s health, education, housing, and social service systems — and why improved visibility into these funding streams matters for policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and community partners.
