Guinn Center Newsletter July 2024

A note from the Executive Director
Dear Public Servants, Supporters, and Friends,
As I look back at the substantive work of our research team this interim, I am amazed at the breadth of topics relevant to our state in education, health, and economic policy. This newsletter serves as a summary of all the reports and briefs we’ve released so far.
I am grateful every day to work with a talented, intelligent and ethical team to identify the most pressing issues in the state and bring independent, evidence-based, nonpartisan policy research to Nevada’s “63 plus 1,” the Legislature and the Governor.
The work we are doing is crucial to better outcomes for our children, businesses, and future in Nevada — and it’s not finished. We have several major reports and briefs to release starting this fall:
- Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems in Nevada
- Nevada's Pupil Centered Funding Plan and Other Fiscal Inputs
- Policy Analysis on Housing Affordability
- Symptom-Based Student Behavioral Health Interventions in Education
- Labor Force Participation Rates Pre- and Post-COVID
- Artificial Intelligence Uses and Considerations in Education, Health, and the Workforce
